I had my first bagel here today. I ordered an onion bagel with egg and bacon. I partnered my breakfast with a wild berry smoothie. It was very tasty, fresh and steaming hot upon delivery. This was no McDonald's breakfast menu item! The bagel was a solid size with probably an egg and a half or two and a ton of bacon. The smoothie was delicious too. In all I enjoyed my visit and recommend it to others.

I've been wanting to try this place since I moved to St. Pete a few weeks ago. I'm not disappointed or wowed, but I will take a few more trips to this place to give a more comprehensive review. They have a decent assortment of sandwiches, bagels and donuts. I can tell the bagels are made fresh, which is a plus. I was really excited to see they have lox cream cheese so I got that on an onion bagel. It was good, but nothing special. The cream cheese was not pack with flavor and I have had better bagels elsewhere in the area. Also the donuts look good and taste average as well. I got a plain yeast which was light in sweetness and texture. Though, it kind of reminded me of the ones you can get at a grocery store. Overall there prices are pretty good though. My ice coffee, bagel w/ cream cheese and donut order came to $5.45

I was so blessed to live down the street from this place for a year. They have delicious cream cheese that has the texture of butter. The everything bagel is large and loaded for those of us who like it extra flavorful. If you are craving a doughnut and want it locally invented, unique, and fresh, than you better run through their doors! That's what they offer and all their goodness sells out quickly. After you eat it you will realize that you won't find a better place in the area for a quick bite and coffee in the morning. On Saturdays you can't go wrong if you have laundry to accomplish. Get'er done next door while you chew on a real egg in your bagel and sip on coffee that was made in small batches.

Came here for their gourmet donuts. Apparently this is one of the few places near Pinellas Park and in St. Petes that has gourmet or fun donuts. When I went, it was around 1pm and there were still a lot of good options left. We had: Peanut Butter and Jelly, Chocolate Glazed, Chocolate peanut, Chocolate Cream, Fruit Loops donut and Coco puffs donut. I enjoyed them all. The chocolate cream had some kinda sweet crumble on top with a cream inside. For the cereal ones, you gotta buy em early. As the day goes in, the cereal starts to lose its crunch. They also have their own homemade cream cheese spreads that they make, including Honey Walnut Raisin, Strawberry, Lox, Honey Butter, Chives and more (see pic). They also have a lot of coffee flavors and bagel flavours. Its a small shop and it's a good size to bring a friend or two along, but too small for a bigger group. I recommend this place

St Pete Bagel Company is definitely one of those great local businesses that are warm and inviting, even on my first time making an appearance in the neighborhood. During the busy morning rush hour, I was able to get in and out with fresh bagels, doughnuts, and iced coffee in hand--- faster than any mega fast food place. Me, being new to their ordering system, was met with the smiling face and great attitude from the mother of the house. After I fumbled in my iced coffee order, she said to me, "Don't worry, I'll take care of you." You really do not hear stuff like that often. It just warmed my heart and really welcomed me to the neighborhood. I'm not much of a service queen, so let's move on to the highly addictive Garlic Cream Cheese. It was mentioned in a previous review, so I just had to give it a try. WOW The doughnuts are deliciously amazing as well! Their Cronut is not oily, super light and fluffy with a crispy glaze on the outside. Rivals some of the more popular Cronuts I have had in NYC for sure. I am still acclimating to the St Pete culture. In this case, the locally owned businesses reflect the same work ethic, speed, neighborly-ness, and high food quality of some of my favorite businesses in NYC. Yes! St Pete Bagel Company, you will be seeing me a few times a week from now on.

The price was really great and the food was pretty decent, but the service left a little to be desired. For a small business, I usually expect a little extra on the service side--but to be fair, it was really early in the morning, and I totally understand the morning sluggishness. I would have probably gotten a coffee-drink, but they didn't offer any non-dairy alternatives. I wouldn't mind going back if it was on the way, but I also wouldn't go out of my way to get here.

Excellent bagels and coffee. Everything is fresh. Pass all the other franchises on 4th and hit this one up. You won't regret it.

Loved the place!!!!!!!!!!! lox and bagel was absolutely fabulous and there was a free donut deal which we couldn't pass on... It's very rare that I eat donuts, but the one from these girls was definitely worth it!

I'm from Brooklyn, New York and these bagels are the closest I've found to authentic New York bagels. Yum

I had been hard pressed to find a good bagel place in St. Pete. Coming from San Diego, I suppose I took for granted the numerous bagel shops and assumed elsewhere would be likewise. Not so, at least in this region. Trusty Yelp and trusty friends recommended St. Pete Bagel. When I found myself craving bagels one afternoon, off I went. The place doesn't look like much from the outside, but as they say, it's what's on the inside that counts. I ordered a dozen bagels of different varieties to take home to my roommates, as well as a turkey bagel sandwich and an iced coffee for lunch. The sandwich was bursting at the seams with turkey and veggies. The iced coffee was decent, but nothing to write home about. The bagels were very fresh, and made an excellent breakfast for the next several days. I will be back to try other varieties!

Hot spot for locals. Good food. We were in and out quickly. Parking can be a challenge during certain hours.

As a New England transplant to the area it is a pleasure to find a family owned businesses that cater to quality in the community. I had one of the best cronuts I've ever had here.

Love this place and have been multiple times. Stopped in with the whole family during morning rush hour today. St Pete Bagel has a family vibe inside. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful with our orders. We ordered Lox and cream cheese on a bagel, multiple egg and bagel sandwiches, and ice coffees all around. Wonderful small business with great food!

This is a smaller store but the food is fresh and the staff was very courteous. The have about 30 different bagels and lots of doughnuts. I didn't try the coffee, but they had a few different brands.

I wish I could give two separate reviews. The bagels and donuts are awesome. Coffee is good, the people are less than friendly. Food is a 3-4 star, service is a 2-3 star. This is the second time I have been to this location so I don't think it was a fluke. Also, the strawberry cream cheese is not as good as at other places. It tastes and looks more artificial than other strawberry cream cheeses. The chive cream cheese is excellent though.

I hate doing this. This place has the best bagels in St. Pete by far. As close to a real NY bagel you can come to in St. Pete. But either I was blind to something in the past, or they've made a significant change to their breakfast sandwiches, and I can no longer give them the same review. If you're like me, then I'm sorry. But beyond that, you like your breakfast sandwiches actually cooked. On a griddle or frying pan. Microwaved eggs and breakfast meats just aren't acceptable. I am not at McDonalds or Dunkin Donuts. I expect some pride in the sandwich making - I don't care if it takes longer; it tastes infinitely better when cooked on a hot stove. And I thought - I am nearly positive - that this place used to do that. I've gotten breakfast here maybe half a dozen times, and I could have sworn they cooked their eggs on a griddle or pan or something. Maybe I was wrong. Maybe I missed it. But, regardless, now everything is cooked in a microwave, and that my friends, is an epic epic fail. A 4 star place easily looses a start for microwaving breakfast. Their bagels are still excellent, and perhaps their lunch sandwiches are good - I've never had them. Their coffee is very good and they have high quality teas, too. But I guess I am going to have to limit myself to cream cheese in the mornings, which makes me sad. I love a good bacon egg and cheese on a bagel, and the only good place I could get that in St. Pete has disappointed me.

In town on vacation. Woke up this morning wanting a good bagel. Walk in and notice the counter was extremely busy. Bagels for days, selection of donutd, and tons of different coffees. Immediately I am concerned everything was premade. Jack of all trades master of none vibe. Than I notice a window inside into the bakery. Dude making everything from scratch and he waves at me nicely. My everything bagel was properly toasted was a firm outside and soft center. Scallion cream cheese was excellent and they are very generous with it. At the time of this review they were running a special where you ordered one bagel with cream cheese and get a donut for free. I got a lemon filled. The lemon curd was good but the donut itself was the star. Super soft with yellow crystal sprinkles on top. I also ordered a caramel de leche which was excellent. All for the low price of $5.70. You can't beat that!

  • Virginia G.

I really liked the bagels here. Nice and fresh and crispy on the outside. They had green tea too which made me smile. Service was friendly, maybe a tad slow, but I wasn't in a rush. I'd choose this place over the chain up the street anyday

  • Elizabeth A.

Although their bagels may be good I will never visit this place again they gave our bagels to another couple who handled the food .... The couple returned the bagels and we watched the employees repackage then try to give them to us... When we asked them to remake the food they gave us grief. I then wanted to order more food and they wouldn't allow an under 5 dollar purchase on a debit card. Most of the items on the menu are under five dollars which that doesn't make sense at all when we had already purchased. Terrible service and terrible environment !!! Don't spend your money at this nasty place !!!

Finding a solid bagel joint down in Florida can prove to be pretty difficult, especially because of their water. I found St. Pete Bagel Co. to be oddly familiar with a place I frequent time and time again from where I live. For those of you that live in the Danbury area up in Connecticut (which I'm sure is few and far between), this is Florida's version of our Bagelman. The bagel that I got my bacon egg and cheese on tasted great, almost identical to what I'm used to. It was the right amount of food I was looking for, especially since something small prior to eating this. Great place for bagels!

  • Chris M.

Wife and I love to stop in on Sunday mornings for a bagel sandwich and coffee. Of course we also cannot resist ordering one or two of their gourmet donuts as well! In fact one Friday I was in a good mood and bought a couple dozen for my office. I must have had ten people tell me it was the best donut they had ever had.

  • Yasmin T.

I Came here for the first time today. I'm not generally a huge donut fan. In fact, i really used to dislike them. Their blueberry cake was super tasty, and might be the best cake donut I've yet to enjoy. The cinnamon raisin bagel was perfectly toasted, but the cream cheese was a bit much... Next time ill ask for it lighter. The espresso was strong, bold, and tasty, too.

  • Anisa B.

Excellent quality of bagel. I can eat the bagel plain-it's so good. Ordered the Ham, veggie sandwich on an everything bagel, toasted. Hit the spot. Loads of Seeds on the top and bottom of bagel. Veggie cream cheese, fresh cucumber, sprouts, tomato, lettuce, ham, onion. Very fresh! Fast service. Definitely will be back.

    (5)
  • Ashley M.

Their bagels are pretty good! Soft on the inside but firm on the outside. They have some pretty interesting flavors too! I don't eat cream cheese, but I could se how a cream cheese lover would go ham wild at this place considering the fact that they have soooooo many types! Go early if you want one of the more popular flavors. I'm a picky bagel eater because I've had some good ole genuine New York bagels in my life, but this place is decent for St. Pete.

  • Scott S.

Far superior bagels. I will never stop at Duncan donuts or Einstein for bagels again. St. Pete bagel really knows how to make a bagel. Also, there is a yelp check in that gives you a free bagel with cream cheese.

  • Day W.

1 star for attitude. 4 stars for bagel. Since there are other bagels places around town such as Einstein Bros nearby, I don't need to be a customer of St. Pete Bagel.\ This is from a Groupon experience. I presented Groupon. Lady at register said to talk to the other lady. The other lady avoided me the whole time I was there. Never got to use my Groupon. The Groupon experience prompted me to watch them as they dealt with other customers the two other times that I came back. My impression is that they know they are popular due to good bagels and being a locally owned business therefore they don't have to do anything else beside selling good bagels to gain and maintain customers. EDIT: Tried Einstein Bros. Bleh.

Sadly, I have to downgrade St Pete Bagel Co to three stars. I still think they're the best bagels around, but today I ordered sandwiches and was thoroughly unimpressed. The egg on my egg & cheese on a bagel was a round microwaved egg cake. It wasn't bad tasting, but it wasn't two scrambled eggs, as I was expecting. I didn't come specifically to a bagel shop for a sandwich resembling fast food offerings. As for my lox and cream cheese on a bagel- I'm glad I browsed reviews, and asked, after others commented, about their lox spread. If you're a smoked salmon fan like myself: lox spread= pink smoked flavored cream cheese. Salmon spread= cream cheese with bits of lox throughout; a generous amount of fish, but there are other ingredients (it's not made in house) like bell pepper bits that I didn't want. If you want whole lox= order lox and cream cheese on a bagel. This said, I was expecting FISH and there were only a few meager pieces, for over $6. Great tasting but huge disappointment on value. I'm still rating them 3 stars because the place is clean, and bagels are great, and after all that's the main attraction. But from now on for me it's take out to make sandwiches at home, or none at all.

Being from NY it's hard to find food out of NY that is just as good. People have told me about St. Pete Bagel and how good they are I had to check them out for myself. OMG the bagels were amazing. They were fresh and had a nice crunchy outside and a soft inside just like home. Next time I'm going home with a dozen.

Great doughnuts, bagels, & coffee. We enjoy hitting this place for their breakfast bagel sandwiches and the occasional doughnut. Their coffee is great as well. We enjoy the multitude of different flavored cream cheeses they offer. The maple bacon doughnuts are to die for, but usually sell out quick. Best bet is to reserve them the day before if you would like to try them.

These are the best bagels in St Pete and possibly the best bagels in the Tampa Bay Area. Their shop is exactly what you'd expect from a local business: full of local yocals that come in daily for their cup of Joe, a good selection of classic bagels (none of theis frou frou flavors lived French toast or apple cinnamon) and homemade cream cheese flavors. I personally like the lite veggie. And a plus is that you'll get a free bagel and cc with your yelp check in....

  • Jim C.

This is a small local shop with very tasty bagels. The salmon with cream cheese is my favorite. They open very early and sometimes have a short line and wait. They make a really god chai tea. It is the best place I have found in Tampa Bay for bagels.

As a bagel connoisseur and being from NY aka Bagel Mecca, I feel I have the bagel credentials to write a unbiased review. This was my first time here after numerous drive by's and I'm glad I was able to finally stop. I ordered something simple to get a good idea how the bagels taste on their own. This visit I chose 2 Everything Pumpernickels , 1 Plain nothing on it and another with cream cheese. Both were very good with just some minor flaws. The pluses first were good size , crunchy and a generous amount of cream cheese and a fair price $2.25 with CC. The negatives could be subjective to taste but having access to the Benchmark of Bagels I feel my comments do have merit The bagels were very good but a bit overly sweet, the cream cheese was good but also a bit sweet and more dense than whipped Service was slow tho , 1 person behind the counter is not sufficient coverage. Overall I was impressed so far and look forward my next visit. This is much better and smarter decision to buy bagels here over the theory of bagels nearby.

I had a plain bagel with lox cream cheese and my wife had the cinnamon bagel with honey walnut raisin cream cheese. We also grabbed a peach fritter on an impulse buy! The thing was huge and on the board for less than two bucks. Added our coffee and then they told us that we got a doughnut free with each coffee. Everything was great and we had enough food for the rest of the day! Definitely recommend the candy apple and bostom cream pie doughnuts! Bagels are large and cream cheese is great! Local.

Without question, the best bagels in the St. Petersburg area. And the newly introduced cronuts are fantastic! St. Pete Bagels have become a weekly habit!

  • J S.

Got a sun-dried tomato bagel that was very flavorful! They really pile on the cream cheese, so if that's not your thing, ask for light cream cheese or ask for it on the side. Took an apple strudel home and had it for dinner dessert. It was absolutely amazing. The donuts looked really good and there was a wide variety available. The staff was efficient and pleasant but not overly helpful. It was a busy morning and they were getting people through the line pretty quickly though. If you aren't sure what you want, stand back until you do. Take a chance and order something different. This place might not be the NY bagel shop that everyone seems to want it to be, but it's seriously good. Oh, while you're there, get a coffee. I got a caramel mocha or latte (can't remember which), it was sooooo good.

I was there at 6 am and the bagel I got tasted like it was good maybe 3 days ago when it was fresh. It is supposed to be their specialty but it was horrible and so chewy. Rude employees as well. I definitely won't be back.

Excellent bagels with homemade cream cheese. Must try the donuts. There is a huge variety of unique flavors and they are phenomenal!

Absolutely wonderful. If you haven't already tried the cronuts, you must! They are absolutely incredible. Service. Food. Prices ... all the best in the Bay in my opinion.

  • Danielle D.

Soooo glad to finally have a salt bagel. It was delicious. I tried a piece of plain bagel and it was just ok. I had such high hopes for finding a nj/ny bagel, but it didn't quite make it. Definitely the best bagels around, though. Tons of varieties of cream cheese. Lots of coffee and drink choices plus donuts.

  • Andrew H.

The bagels are great! It's been busy both times I've been in and maybe slightly understaffed but the food make up for it and the service is great once they take your order. Parking is surprisingly not that big of an issue even at busier times. How this place has competitive prices and sometimes cheaper deals than the big chains, I don't know. But don't waste your time on any other spot for a quick breakfast

  • Thuyen B.

Stopped in a little while ago. I was doing some laundry next door and didn't have anything to do while I was waiting. Saw that they had a check in offer for a free bagel so I thought why not! They were about to close I think but let me come in and order. I ordered an iced coffee, two donuts, and got the free bagel. So yum! My son ate the cream filled donut and he gave it two thumbs up. I had a bite of the bagel and it was very good! My coffee was ok, didn't really stand out. Haven't had the chance to go back yet, but if I ever need to order bagels, I will return!

My brother in law picked up bagels, donuts and cream cheese from the 4th st. Location. I have been looking for a great bagel place since I moved here almost 6 months ago, and believe I have found it. I have yet to go in but, from the quality that he brought home, I'm sure this place is great. I really only have one complaint. The flavors in the filled donuts taste way too artificial. Didn't like it one bit. The raised donuts were great. The chocolate glaze actually tasted chocolatey. The veggie cream cheese was really yummy and the bagels were perfectly made. I would've given the full five stars, I just hate fake tasting fruit fillings. I can't wait to try more items from there.

  • Chris W.

I have yet to eat here. Why am I hitting them with 1 star? Because I made my first visit there last week on the way to work, which means I left earlier than normal and went a bit out of my way, or I should say I took the longer way to work, to try these guys out. I stood in line, and finally got to the register only to see the small sign saying minimum order of $10 to use debit/credit card. Well I had no cash on me and I left with no food. First, as far as I know, merchants really aren't supposed to do this. I know why they do, but last I knew the credit card companies don't allow this. Second, $10?? I am not ordering $10 worth of bagels for myself. I hate hitting a family owned/operated business like this, but this is really not cool. IF I have cash on me, I will try to give these guys another chance. But honestly, this is kinda like gouging in my opinion. EVERYBODY uses plastic these days. Imagine the extra business you could be getting on a regular basis. FYI....Krispy Kreme is just up the street and they take plastic for 1 donut.

Best bagels I've had in the Bay area. I get the everything and the garlic every sunday. I've never had the specialty bagels sandwiches or the donuts, but damn it's a bagel shop you're there to get bagels. The bagels are so good all you need is a little cream cheese!

Quaint. Friendly staff and yummy bagels & donuts! Will return to this old-school feel bagel joint. Yum :)

  • Melissa Z.

Thank God for a non chain bagel store in St Pete! The bagels are perfectly doughy soft on the inside and crisp on the outside. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that they don't seed both sides of the bagel which is how a real authentic NYC bagel is done right and they could be a little more generous with the toppings on the everything bagel. Still. A d@mn good bagel.

    (4)
  • Sunai E.

Solid spot, not the best bagel, not the worst. Reliably tasty smoked white fish and if you check in, you get a free bagel! That's a pretty good deal! Also, the smoked salmon is good and bagels are fluffy yet firm enough on the outside. This is no new york bagel place but the best we've found in St. Pete so far. The coffee is pretty tasty, too! If you live downtown and are seeking a weekend morning snack, take the 10 minute drive over...it's worth it.

A decent bagel for Florida, cannot complain! Great coffee too!

Negative 5 stars. Worst service and slow, 15 minutes for 1 panini. They use microwaves people so its not even fresh, just crap. I'm sure they don't CLEAN them either. Disgusting, Get Real. I will go buy a frozen breakfast sandwhich & cook it my own CLEAN microwave which isn't cooked with everybody else's crap. NEVER AGAIN will go here. Btw i waited so long i got my money back. Keep your crappy sandwhich and enjoy

Best bagels in St. Pete. Repeat: BEST BAGELS IN ST PETE! And pretty good coffee too. It doesn't hit 5 stars because the dinning area is pretty small. You pretty much pick up your dozen and run home. I wish I could sit, enjoy a coffee and eat an egg/cheese bagel there but it's always so busy, the dinning area is full of people waiting in line. So if you're a bagel buff, pick some up here!

One of the BEST coffees I've had here. I had a mochacinno. Don't judge my fru-fru coffee order. It was amazing. I also got the sun-dried tomato bagel with cream cheese. It was really good. Everything was very fresh. The sun dried tomato flavor was throughout the bagel, not overpowering. Next time, I'd probably order lighter cream cheese, I took a lot of the generous portion off and munched happily. Typical St Pete customer service, not overly nice or friendly, better know what you want and how to order and you'll get what you came in for quickly. One of the things I really like about St Pete is the abundance of locally owned restaurants and businesses. Pretty sure most of the people behind the counter were family. It was steadily busy on a Saturday AM. Nice to see the doing well. The prices were extremely reasonable. We took home a couple of pastries. The apple strudel was absolutely delicious! Best I have ever had. Light flaky pastry. Apples had a little crunch to them. So fresh. The pastry cabinet itself was a sight to see! So many variations of doughnuts and they all looked amazing! They put the stale "donuts" at Dunkin to shame. If you go to their website, they have a printable coupon and there are check-in specials on Yelp or Foursquare.

There's no need to take a trip to New York when there's bagels like this available locally. Regardless of the make-up of the bagel chosen it will be soft and thick enough to be sturdy without being a brick. Add in the fantastic and made-right-there cream cheese and there's a hearty breakfast or snack.

If you've never been or haven't been in a while you need to GO!! St Pete Bagel is in the opposite direction of everywhere in town I need to be, but that has not stopped me from going because it is so good! The bagels (I love the pumpernickel everything) are kosher and so tasty, they do not need to be toasted. They offer many toppings and don't scrimp. They've added donuts which are like no other I've ever seen or tasted - a treat like no other. My office mates beg me to bring in breakfast. Plus they are LocalShops1 members so I get a discount when I flash my LocalShops1 card. They also have lots of coffee options and serve sandwich's at lunch time.

Great coffee and lattés as well as doughnuts and bagels. This more than makes up for the total lack of ambience.

I love to support the small guys. I'd come in here more often if I lived closer. My whole wheat bagel was pretty good. I had it open face with salmon schmear on one side and honey walnut raisin on the other, so it was like breakfast then dessert :) They toasted it just right. They were pretty heavy-handed with the schmear, but I guess it's better than too little.

Oh, man...kicking myself for not coming sooner. I have been driving up and down 4th Street for two years, glancing over at this place, and saying.."Geez, I really need to check that out....maybe next time". Upon arrival, I knew I was in Carb Nirvana. I stood at the counter, taking in all the sights and smells and became increasingly giddy as I placed my to-go order. I redeemed my "Free Bagel & Yelp Check-In", and ordered an additional Everything bagel, and a Blueberry. It was suggested that I try the veggie cream cheese on the Everything bagels, and it is truly delicious. As a matter of fact, every darn bite was delicious...like New York City delicious. The service was great - she was patient and friendly, even when I made the ultimate faux pas and paid with my card for a total under $10.00.....bring cash, or buy more. She let me slide this time since it was my first visit, and in gratitude I gave the cash I did have to the tip jar. Didn't try the coffee, not the donuts, but I will next time..........and by next time, I mean within the next two days.

This place was not as good as I thought it was going to be. I got my usual favorite...an everything bagel with plain cream cheese. My boyfriend got an everything with lox cream cheese. We both agreed that we have had better bagels and that we actually prefer the New York Bagels closer to our home. The bagels were on the smaller size and didn't have a lot of flavor to them. My boyfriend was also surprised by his lox cream cheese since at New York Bagels they actually have hunks of lox mixed in with cream cheese. This was not the case here. We also shared an apple fitter, which was actually very good. Their donut case was very droolworthy. I do have to note though, that they are a lean, mean, well run machine! We went during high time on a Saturday and it was busy, but the line moved fast and we got our order in no time. So don't be detered if there's a long line. Needless to say I was dissapointed since this is supposed to be the go-to spot for bagels in St. Pete.

Delicious every time and they always treat us great! Best spot in town for breakfast, donuts, and bagels.

We drive here every Saturday morning from South Tampa and buy two dozen for the week. Add that to their scallion, honey, or strawberry cream cheeses, and you're set for breakfast and snacks. If you're thinking about going any place else to get a bagel, just... don't. You'll just be disappointed. And - while you're there, get one of their fun, creative, M&M or Fruit-Loop crusted donuts.

A little gem on 4th St. N, this is my go-to place for weekend bagel & lox, wonderful sandwiches, good coffee, and now- donuts. It's s cramped storefront in a tiny old strip next to a laundromat, with room for only about five tables, a few stools at a front window counter, and three more tables outside. But the aroma of freshly-baked breads, pastries and coffee is heady, and triggers nostalgic gustatory memories. Their bagels taste as close to NYC as I've found outside bagel mecca. Cream cheese is luxurious, and generously applied. Pastries are decadent (though probably purchased frozen and baked on premises), and the new donuts are actually better (and cheaper) than the big chains. Coffee is hot and fresh, though I sometimes wish it were stronger. It's a cramped little place, but who cares?! The extremely hardworking staff is attentive, and makes sure you get exactly what you ordered as quickly as possible. It's a pleasure to watch people putting that much work into a food-service business, and not being surly or inattentive. And besides that, the food is great! This is a difficult place to critique, because what can you say about a bagel and schmear? But they do it "right," whatever that is, and although the staff is not warm & fuzzy friendly, you always get the feeling that they earned your patronage. I would go out of my way to eat here, not because it's the best food in the world, but because it's delicious, and they work hard to make it so. One note: They do make bialys here, a semi-bagel with a depression instead of a hole in the middle and cooked onions & poppy seeds nested on top. It's an interesting ethnic treat, rarely found outside NY. They do it justice but, when I asked one server if she knew where it got its name (Bialystok, Poland), she had no idea. I smiled, and told her.

They close at 1pm. Lots of unique-looking donuts like red velvet, German chocolate. There are also numerous flavored sperads for the bagels.

I have found my one-stop for all breakfasts happiness destination! I'll run here if ever a zombie apocalypse threatens to take away my morning food. You'll find bagels, donuts, and (MmmMmm) you'll find coffee... I'll ignore the sandwiches for now. FOOD With a word like "bagel" in the title, I expected the bagels to blow me away. With around 20 types of bagels-- they are DELICIOUS to eat without additions or toasting, but don't expect to substitute your New York plane tickets for these. I'm a donut fan and these are a hit or miss. If it has thick frosting, the frosting BREAKS APART from the donut in chunks! Noooo! But if the frosting has been glazed on, it was done so with love and partly melts into the donut dough which makes it delicious. Ah coffee--although some types are served a bit small for the price--MmmMmmm. Awesome, many choices. It complements the dough-ness of the food and comes in many forms. A side area allows for self-service. SERVICE The employees run the place like a corporate business: serious, brisk, unsmiling. The quick service is awesome as well as the acknowledgement upon entry... but it doesn't seem like these guys get buddy-buddy with anybody. I'm assuming they have cult fans--I've seen ALL types of people go here. ALLLLL freakin' types. (That's a good thing) LOCATION APPEARANCE The store blends into the not-so-pretty plazas of St. Pete's 4th Street. Worn out signs outside, dusty parking lot... stark contrast from the comfiness that seems to radiate nuclear energy from inside. Cool-- at the side you can watch a baker creating the pastries for the store.

Finally! Good bagels. I come from NY where there are many good bagel spots. I have been disappointed until I found this place. Best bagels in the St Pete area.

SHOP LOCAL! Great bagels, baked on premises. I love the onion toasted, with jalapeno salsa cream cheese (with apologies to my co-workers for what must surely be dragon breath after that tasty treat). Quick service, great coffee and they have housemade doughnuts as well.

The only place to get a REAL bagel in St. Pete. Eat here once, and you will be craving them forever. They started selling donuts a while back. I'm not a donut fan, but I can't resist buying them when I'm at St. Pete bagel.

Best bagels in the Tampa Bay area. I've been getting them for years, though I do not get to St Pete often these days. Stopped by a couple days ago to get some to freeze and take with for Xmas trip. Took an onion & salmon cream cheese to eat on the go; WOW, was it good! Each bite was a bit of heaven.

This is my favorite place to get a bagel. They beat Panera and Einstein by a long shot - in taste and price. I have been coming here for years and the bagels have always been amazing and the cream cheese is always made fresh. It may look a little dingy on the outside, but venture in and you will be pleasantly surprised.

Great food, carefully prepared. Tons of choices, friendly people! Seems to be a family business. Employees seem to be 1st- and 2nd- generation Americans; It's great to help people living the American dream, and great to support a local business.

I wanted to like this place because of all the good reviews. However, I went for the first time this morning and got some donuts and a bagel. They both tasted days old. The bagel was so hard I could barely chew it. I should have just gone to dunkin donuts down the street :\

Best bagel place in St Pete! Fresh bagels and homemade cream cheese that you can't beat :) They make salt bagels the right way - something that can't be said about a lot of places. Wide selection and quick, friendly service. Garlic and herb cream cheese is fantastic! Now they also make donuts which are incredible as well! Try the maple bacon donut, you won't regret it (unless you're on a diet)! Seriously, if you give this place less than 4 stars, you don't know bagels :)

Tried this place out to test it against the chains. Was disappointed. Bagels were hard, restaurant is dirty, and coffee was average. Sorry the little guys just don't match up.

Claimed a table for a bagel plus schmear on a saturday morning. An impressive processional of children clad in every sporting uniform around (soccer, baseball, karate, ballet, etc) walking in for their pre- or post- event breakfast. I wasn't even sure that legit bagels existed down here. I'd seen a few half-hearted attempts, a bunch of bagel offerrings imported from points unknown (I like to imagine them being steamed in from Eastern Europe on massive cargo freighters, a string of seabirds a mile long trailing behind looking for a way into the hold). Other than that, it was all grocery store freezer aisle bagels and dunkin' donuts. I'd previously setteled on Atlanta Bread Co downtown, but this place turns out a better product - the cream cheese is fresh as can be, the bagels are just right (which is to say chewy carb bombs), and the atmosphere is appropriately bagel-shoppish. It's a haul from down town, but worth it for a baker's dozen on a weekend morning.

What can you say about a bagel shop? Surprisingly: tons. All you really need to know is that the bagels are made daily, the cream cheese is homemade, and the bagels have toppings ON BOTH SIDES. That is generally my biggest gripe about bagel shops. You order an everything bagel, and you get 1/2 an everything and 1/2 a plain. Not here! TOPPINGS ON BOTH SIDES! YAY! The ladies behind the counter are always polite and prompt. The coffee is great (and purchasable by the pound either whole bean or ground). And the previously mentioned homemade cream cheese? Incredible. Tons of flavors: Veggie (my favorite), honey, strawberry, chocolate chip, smoked salmon, etc... Pick any of them, you can't go wrong. I love picking up a baker's dozen on a Saturday morning and making bagel sandwiches at home all weekend. Pro-tip: If ordering a dozen, have them slice only half. That way you can freeze the other half and save them for later. The only downside to the fresh bagels, is they do tend to go stale after a couple of days if you order them sliced.

The bagels are very good. Remind me of the ones in NY. I tried the bagels and lox and was very disappointed. Very little salmon, oninons and capers and way too much cream cheese. Einstein Brothers has the best bagels and lox!
